Server for beginners

PHP might be a technology as old as the internet itself, however, still widely used for back-end development. A perfect example would be database interaction or e-mail letters distribution.

That means it cannot be learned out of its environmental use. This is also the main reason this course introduces you to the internet structure (http:// , https://), server types and architecture, a briefly acquaintance to Linux OS (the operating system used for server administration) and database management essentials via MySQL.

This course is of an exploratory nature based on Robin Nixon’s “Learning PHP, MySQL & Javascript” book, by the end of which you will be able to create an elementary social network.

Prior knowledge of Javascript, CSS and HTML5 is welcome, though not a necessity.
